 As owner of my catering company, I worked with the client to design the entire visual concept and the personal, "enveloping" feel of the evening she wished to capture…simple, yet dramatic, as her vision led us! Once the venue was secured, and we met to map out details of her concept, I:
- crafted the menu with Chef;
- selected linens, chairs, china, crystal, flatware, chargers;
- detailed/arranged/ordered the wedding-cake-for-two;
- detailed/arranged/ordered the gazebo with lighting/treatments, floral
- tablepiece/chair swags;
- designed staffing team;
- assisted with sourcing and vendor selection of transportation, music
- provided on-site coordination/assistance/execution that night

When is a social event the best social event in the eyes of a very romantic couple…when it's their very own Anniversary Ball for Two!
This client called me frustrated and discouraged… and simply sure that I, too, would turn her down! She lost count of phone calls she made planning their 15th wedding anniversary celebration - September 1, 1999. No caterer would help her, but I eagerly embraced this opportunity to create a highly unusual/extravagant/romantic/highly personal evening for such delightful clients.
She and I immediately bonded and became a team to delight her husband with touches and details worthy of any movie set! Our ideas meshed beautifully: dramatic, ornate venue; opulent cream/gold tablescape; sumptuous blush-rose florals; classical menu; exquisite wedding cake-for-two on a 1920s-era crystal pedestal; gold Rolls-Royce limousine; gallery-style photography; and tuxedoed duo playing waltz music to indulge the anniversary couple's greatest passion, besides each other… ballroom dancing.
That night, as light-streams of sunset filtered in, I caught tiny tears sparkling in her eyes as they stood poised on the steps to enter their magical evening of dining, dancing and romancing. She still exclaims how startling it was to see her dream-evening actually become a reality…perfectly…to use her word…
